Running through time: my 2010 playlist still has its power

Cleaning out boxes and closets can do wonders for your mood, especially when you stumble upon your old Baby G and iPod Shuffle. And suddenly, it’s possible again to leave your smartphone behind in the gym locker. Bliss.

But what really surprised me, was what I found *on* that iPod: the music.
It still works. It still fires me up. Whether I’m working at my desk, lifting weights, or just need a quick mood boost.

So I recreated the playlist on YouTube Music, and you can now enjoy it too.
If you’re in the mood for nostalgia and energy, keep reading.

Why music works (and this playlist plays hard)

You probably don’t need scientific proof to know that music helps you push through. But it’s true: music boosts performance, lowers pain perception, and elevates your mood. Especially tracks between 120 and 140 BPM are golden for cardio or strength workouts.

Most of the tracks in this playlist fall into that zone, even though I picked them intuitively at the time. Seems like past-me knew what she was doing.

This playlist is a journey, not a genre.

Where music meets photography & health

Just like photography, music is about energy, rhythm and feeling. It gets me out of my head, into motion. It creates flow.

This playlist is part of my creative and physical rituals. Maybe it becomes part of yours too.
